Along with our sister pharmacy, Irondequoit Pharmacy, this group of like-minded pharmacists bring together decades of experience to Rochester’s pharmacy. Our patients receive the personal touch of a corner drug store backed by some of the most experienced compounding pharmacists in the country.

History
Originally a tavern, now an apothecary
In 1848, Edward Caple emigrated from England and built Caple’s Tavern, next to the original Rochester Brick & Tile Company. In addition to dining and public meeting rooms, the tavern offered overnight accommodations for travelers. The tavern later became a hotel.
In 1982, it was opened as an Apothecary after being bought by Mike Wincowski who acquired the LaMay drugs, one of the oldest and most iconic drug companies in Rochester, NY. Full of pharmaceutical history, he moved all of the original wooden cabinets, which were custom made for the pharmacy, into this building to preserve their heritage. Today, the building houses the Twelve Corners Apothecary.
