Boric Acid Vaginal Suppositories
This formula was created by compounding pharmacist Ivan Sanzel, internationally renowned for his work on suppositories. This is an extremely effective treatment for women who are struggling to balance pH and decrease recurrent bacterial and yeast infections.
“KIP” Gel
This preparation contains Ketoprofen, Ibuprofen and Piroxicam in our deep penetrating gel base. Its use allows for these anti-inflammatory pain medications to be applied locally and decrease the chance of systemic side effects.
Nitroglycerin, Nifedipine, Diltiazem Rectal Ointments
These ointments can be used to aid in the healing of hemorrhoids and fissures. We can also add Lidocaine for extra pain relief.
All-Purpose Nipple Ointment
A combination of anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, and anti-inflammatory medications in a protective ointment base; it works wonders for breastfeeding women that are struggling with cracked nipples and infections.
Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy
Bio-identical hormones refer to hormonal treatments that structurally are the same as the hormones your body produces. Working with your provider we can create transdermals, troche, capsules, suppositories, and vaginal creams for your individualized needs. We use PCCA bases that provide a more pharmaceutically elegant product with superior delivery without the parabens and phthalates.
What is compounding?
Pharmacy compounding is the art and science of preparing customized medications for patients. Its practice dates back to the original of pharmacy; yet, compounding’s presence throughout the pharmacy profession has changed over the years. In the 1930s and 1940s, approximately 60% of all medications were compounded. With the advent of drug manufacturing in the 1950s and 1960s, compounding rapidly declined. The pharmacist’s role as a preparer of medications quickly changed to that of a dispenser of manufactured dosage forms.
Within the last two decades, though, compounding has experienced a resurgence, as modern technology and innovative techniques and research have allowed more pharmacists to customize medications to meet specific patient needs. Today, an estimated 1% of all prescriptions are compounded daily by pharmacists working closely with physicians and their patients.
