It’s late at night. You’re up from pain caused by overtraining. Working out like you did in your 20’s just doesn’t seem to be working the same as it is in your 50’s. You’re on the internet looking for answers and there is one word that comes up over and over again:
“Peptides”
The bottle pictured is from a patient that made this purchase late at night looking for his wonder supplement, BCP-157. He hit purchase from an unknown website with high hopes this will would save him. It took months to arrive and when it did, it came as BPC-157 with no manufacture, no lot number or anything that reflected where the item was made, no expiration date, no ability to return, no place to contact for questions, no information on taking. It was as if this just dropped from the sky months later. As he opened it up it occurred to him – Is this even BCP-157? If you are taking peptides or any supplement, you NEED to ask yourself this exact question. You can’t even file a complaint with the FDA as the website is gone and there is no trace of where it came from. Imagine injecting a product that you realistically have no idea what is in the bottle.

This encompasses their policy on vitamins, herbs, homeopathic remedies, foods being consumed for the purpose of health in general, etc. Many peptides fall into this category currently. The main take away is the FDA puts the ownership on the company selling the product and currently you can only purchase certain peptides “for research purposes only” – aka they are totally unregulated. Reputable companies, including compounding pharmacies, are on standby as the federal government decides how to handle 7 additional peptides that are in hot demand like BCP-157. The FDA’s Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee is meeting July 23-24, 2026. So to our patients looking for these items- Hold tight!
